Niyama Private Islands Maldives is set to host an exclusive chocolate-tasting experience this February with renowned master chocolatier Patrick Gelencser. From February 21-25, 2025, Gelencser will take up residence at the resort, offering select guests the chance to savor his exceptional creations in breathtaking island settings.

Patrick Gelencser, a third-generation chocolatier, is celebrated for his expertise in bean-to-bar chocolate making. As one of only 15 chocolatiers in France who master this craft, Gelencser’s work is so revered that it is showcased in a chocolate museum in the Loire Valley. His artistry has earned him numerous international accolades, making his tasting sessions a must for chocolate lovers.

Guests at Niyama will enjoy three exclusive tasting events during his stay. The first, “Single-Origin Chocolate & Rum,” takes place on February 21, 2025, at Edge, a stunning venue situated half a kilometre out to sea. This experience will feature chocolates paired with the finest Caribbean and South American rums, priced at USD 125, and limited to just 16 guests.

On February 23, 2025, “Ganache, Praline & Whiskey” will be held at The Deli on Chill Island, offering a smooth and creamy tasting paired with premium whiskeys. This event, priced at USD 135, will also be limited to 16 guests.

The final tasting, “Tapas, Chocolate, Wine & Port,” will take place on February 25, 2025, at Chef’s Garden. Guests will enjoy a full gastronomic experience, from tapas and wine to chocolate and port, all curated by Gelencser himself. This exclusive event is priced at USD 145 and will be limited to just 12 guests.
