The Maldives Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators (MATATO) has announced its partnership with the Korean Tourism Organisation (KTO) to host an exciting roadshow event. The event will aim at promoting bilateral tourism between the Maldives and Korea and will serve as a valuable platform to introduce KTO to the esteemed members, stakeholders, and media of the Maldives Tourism scene. Ultimately leading to new opportunities and a closer partnership between both destinations.
The roadshow event is facilitated in continuation of the productive discussions held between the two organizations earlier this year. During the discussions held in March, a diverse range of topics were explored, and this collaboration only signifies the joint commitment of both organizations to foster closer ties and enhance tourism experiences for travellers of both countries.
The Maldives has had a longstanding partnership with Korea with many Korean travellers and honeymooners harbouring a deep affection for the pristine natural beauty of the Maldives. Likewise, the Maldivian community has shown an interest in Korean culture in recent years, in everything ranging from sumptuous cuisine and enthralling dramas to popular music.
Through the roadshow, MATATO members and other industry stakeholders will be able to gain key insights into the wide variety of offerings Korea holds as a tourist destination. During the function held in Maagiri Hotel, KTO provided engaging presentations that highlighted the unique experiences and attractions awaiting Maldivian travellers in Korea and a speech was given by the Regional Director, Mr Myong Kil Yun.
Speaking about the partnership, President of MATATO, Abdulla Ghiyas remarked, “We are excited to witness the captivating presentations and hear the perspectives of our members on this partnership. The collaboration between MATATO and KTO holds immense potential for forging stronger ties and creating mutually beneficial opportunities. We anticipate that this event will pave the way for more Maldivians to explore Korea and for Korean visitors to discover the enchanting beauty of the Maldives."
The MATATO-KTO roadshow event promises to be an immersive experience, offering visitors the chance to network with prominent industry professionals, share insights, and explore potential avenues for further collaboration. It represents a significant milestone in the efforts to strengthen tourism ties between the Maldives and Korea, fostering cultural exchange and facilitating the growth of the travel and hospitality industries in both countries.
