A very proud moment for the crew at Oaga, as the resort is pleased to announce that Chef Maha Naseer, the Creative Culinary Director at Oaga Art Resort, is the first Maldivian to ever receive the Master Chef Society of the World designation!
With more than 200 members in 50 countries, the World Master Chefs Society is the top international honors organization for exceptionally talented professional chefs. The World Master Chefs Society, which was established more than 50 years ago, is the only organization authorized to bestow the title of World Master Chef and frequently recognizes deserving chefs. High academic achievement, professional accomplishments, and managerial recommendations are the strict requirements for membership in this society.
Chef Maha is one of the few female executive chefs from the island nation currently, giving all the more reasons to be proud of this achievement, especially in an era where female empowerment is on the rise. At the age of 8, she began her first kitchen explorations, and ever since then, she had been determined to become a well-known chef.
The professional chef and mother of four began her career eight years ago to serve clients from international countries. Chef Maha is a graduate of Singapore's Creative Culinare with a degree in culinary arts and cuisine. She is currently the Secretary General of the Chefs Guild of the Maldives and a pastry rookie judge recognized by the World Chefs. Over the years, the driven entrepreneur has received numerous accolades on a national and international level.
Chef Maha aims to modernize, curate, and elevate regional cuisines by using high-quality ingredients that are representative of what she experiences while traveling the world. Her goal is to provide the industry with original conceptualization developments and specially curated programs.
Her profession at Oaga Art Resort will be to elevate the culinary experience through fun innovations, artistically experimental creations, and a fusion of local culture. The brand-new and blissful Oaga is a unique island that will welcome visitors in quarter 4 of this year, the year that Maldives is also celebrating their 50th golden jubilee of tourism industry.
Located in North Malé Atoll, 40 minutes by speedboat from Velana International Airport, the crew at Oaga Art Resort is currently on the lookout for any local enthusiasts to come and join their team. Stay tuned!
