Monday 13th of June 2022

Fairmont Maldives Sirru Fen Fushi, part of AccorHotels, is a luxurious 120 villa resort with the Maldives' largest, 200m infinity pool. The resort features opulent Beach Villas, decadent Over-water Villas, and luxury Beach Tented Villas, as well as the Maldives' largest jacuzzi, a Kids Club, Art Studio, Tennis court, Park land, Dive center, a 9-kilometer-long lagoon with a manta ray cleaning station, the Award-Winning Willow Stream Spa, and three gourmet restaurants. Fairmont Maldives is a place where memories are made and celebrations are held.

Joining this immensely beautiful resort as the new General Manager is Mr. Marshall Orton. With over 35 years of luxury hospitality experience, Marshall will be in charge of Fairmont Maldives' overall operations, performance, and strategic direction in his new role. His previous roles include General Manager at La Veranda Resort Phu Quoc in Vietnam, Director of Operations at Pullman Yangon Centrepoint in Myanmar, and Executive Assistant Manager at Sofitel Bangkok. He has spent much of his career working across Accor's luxury brands in Asia, Europe, and the United States.

He held a number of executive chef and culinary roles around the world before honing his management skills, which were crucial in shaping his understanding of the food and beverage industry. Marshall comes to the team with a natural grasp of the resort's three pillars: family, sustainability, and wellness.

“I am truly honored for being appointed the role of General Manager at Fairmont Maldives, renowned for its forward-thinking eco-initiatives and thoughtful luxury approach. I look forward to bringing a fresh perspective and continuing the legacy of this award-winning, sustainably rooted resort.” Expressing his enthusiasm over the new journey is Marshall.

With Maldivian tourism expected to return to pre-pandemic levels by 2023 and the recent launch of the Fairmont Maldives' Sustainability Lab, the archipelago's first of its kind, the appointment comes at an exciting time for the resort. The lab, a center for eco-education, transforms plastic waste into custom souvenirs and one-of-a-kind items, educating visitors of all ages and empowering local communities.
