Slovenian-born distinguished tennis player and coach, Miha Plesnik will be posing as the new resident tennis coach at the timeless sanctuary Vakkaru Maldives. The 31-year-old certified tennis coach brings 10 years of extensive experience to the property and is assigned by Vakkaru Maldives’ partner – Tipsarevic Luxury Tennis. Plesnik will be taking up residency at the resort and offering his expertise until 28 February 2024.

It’s acclaimed for delivering resident coaches that offer a unique mix of international expertise and a personalized approach to coaching tennis enthusiasts. During his residency at Vakkaru Plesnik can be booked for private single and doubles coaching sessions and for ‘Beat the Pro’ sessions, where guests can showcase their skills and serve against a professional tennis player.
Plesnik had led a luminous playing career in tennis before he switched to coaching later. During his prime, he became a doubles silver medalist at the European Youth Olympic Festival in 2007 and was also an integral member of the Slovenian National Team in the European Championships. After transitioning to coaching, Plesnik has worked alongside several prestigious institutions including an upscale country club where he provided private lessons.
Plesnik has completed Sports Management from the University of Technology in Sydney, Australia, and is a licensed Official National Tennis Coach license in Slovenia. Enthusing about his stint at Vakkaru Maldives, Plesnik commented: “I am passionate about making people fall in love with the beautiful game of tennis and helping them reach their full potential.”
