After 18 years in the international hospitality industry, Melany Martinez Thomas has joined Joali Being as the Director of Wellbeing. She has contributed to a number of managerial and pre-opening roles, vastly expanding her experiences with multinational brands such as SLH Hotels, Relais & Chateux, Aman Resorts, Kempinski Hotels, and independent hotels in the European and American region.
Melany specializes in creating and developing flawless wellness concepts and spa centers. Her work in permanent and consultant roles can be seen around the globe. Since the beginning of her career in Costa Rica as an Integrated Balance and Yoga instructor, Melany has improved on her knowledge and skills academically as well. She holds multiple Diplomas in Applied Kinesiology and Body Psychology from D.E.I. International School of Body Psychology, in addition to an MBA in Leadership and Sustainability from the University of Cumbria, U.K.
In her new role as Director of Wellbeing, Melany will take on the responsibility of overseeing the development of new and improved wellness programs for Joali Being. This new resort due in 2021 is the second property under the Joali umbrella in the Maldives. Upcoming as a Nature Immersive Island Retreat, Joali Being will focus on the health and wellbeing of the most discerning guests.
