OTM Mumbai, India's biggest travel trade event, exhibits the island nation of Maldives as the partner country for the event. From the 14th to the 16th of March, the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) will be working hard towards strengthening the Maldives' brand visibility in the Indian Market.
Known as the gateway to India's greatest and largest travel market, OTM is also one of the largest international gatherings of travel trade buyers and professionals in India. This is a golden opportunity to meet professionals and build long-term business relations from all around the world. This year's event is said to feature over 1,100 exhibitors from 55 countries, with an estimated number of 30,000 visitors over the three days of the event.
The Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of MMPRC, Mr. Thoyyib Mohamed, participated in a panel discussion held on the sidelines of OTM under the title “The Importance of India - Outbound in the Post Pandemic Market Recovery”. Speaking at this panel discussion, Thoyyib addressed the current position of the market and the ongoing efforts by MMPRC and industry stakeholders to maintain the Maldives as one of the most preferred destinations among Indians. MMPRC was also presented an award by One Above Agency, one of the leading travel agencies of India, in recognition of the work done by the corporation in the Indian market. The award was titled “FRIEND OF INDIAN OUTBOUND TRAVEL FRATERNITY”.
With the Maldives being exhibited as a partner country during these three days, the country's brand visibility in both online and offline components will be enhanced. The Maldives will be promoted as a preferred holiday destination for Indians and will highlight the experiences they can get during their vacation, along with strategic locations for the venue.
Along with MMPRC as the designated stand at OTM 2022, 18 other co-exhibitors will also be promoting the destinations.
The main aim is to provide information about the Maldives, which includes the geographical advantage the country has over other destinations when it comes to the pandemic as well as how the advantage is a beautiful and unique one. This will also be followed by the ease in travel restrictions imposed on tourists, which come with the good news of the national public health emergency being lifted from the country. These will make it easier for tourists to visit the Maldives, as they should!
