MMPRC Partners With Travel + Leisure To Raise Numbers From The SEA Market

Wednesday 20th of July 2022

Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) have partnered with Travel + Leisure and launched a campaign to increase brand visibility in the South-East Asian (SEA) market. The campaign which commenced in July 2022 will extend throughout the year and will remain till the beginning of 2023.

The campaign targets different aspects of the tourism industry in the Maldives including our main assets (resorts, guesthouses and liveaboards) and share experiences that are exclusive to the Maldives to travel trade and potential tourists from the SEA market.

In addition to this, prospective travelers will be well informed about the unique one-island one-resort concept practiced in the Maldives and the geographical distribution of our islands via advertisements and banners shared by Travel + Leisure on their social media platforms along with the latest travel information and guidelines.

This campaign is part of the marketing strategy utilized by MMPRC to target the SEA market in an effort to preserve and increase visibility and brand awareness for Maldives, while earmarking Maldives as the world’s leading destination.

While showcasing and promoting the services provided for luxury and muslim travelers and families, the strategy also aims to dismantle the image of Maldives as merely a honeymoon or luxury destination. A strong emphasis is also put into projecting numbers to pre-pandemic levels through this campaign by the end of the year.

Maldives welcomed 18,489 tourists from the SEA market this year from January to July. MMPRCC has been focusing on the SEA market with cabvertising campaigns like MyBump media and participating in multiple travel expos such as Malaysia International Dive Expo, Thailand Dive Expo and MATTA fair 2022.
