Coming into this position with over 2 decades of experience in the field, Mohamed Ashraf has been appointed as the General Manager (GM) of Jumeriah Maldives. This appointment is one to put in the history books of the tourism industry in the Maldives because this makes Ashraf the first-ever Maldivian to head a resort in the Maldives that is run and owned by an international hotel chain.
He comes to Jumeriah Maldives after his tenure at The Nautilus Maldives, where he has served as the GM since April of 2019.
He joined the workforce in 1999, after finishing his BTEC Diploma in Tourism Management, and worked as a marketing executive at the local hotel group AAA Hotels & Resorts. He then moved to Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts, and manage to work his way up to front desk manager. Following this, he worked as the Resort Manager at several resorts operated by world-renowned Thai hospitality group Minor Hotels including Anantara Veli Maldives Resort and Niyama Private Islands Maldives.
We are sure that he will be a fine edition to the Jumeriah Maldives team and look forward to seeing how the resort develops with a Maldivian at the helm.
