Nest at Niyama: Maldives’ Exclusive Jungle Dining Experience Returns with Enhanced Flair

Niyama Private Islands Maldives welcomes back its distinguished Asian restaurant, Nest, presenting an enhanced jungle dining experience featuring bold new flavors and a revitalized setting.

Enveloped in Nature:

Located within the lush heart of the Play island, Nest transports guests to an otherworldly realm, surrounded by wild, indigenous flora. The unique dining experience begins with a stroll along a meandering boardwalk through the jungle's overgrown vines, unveiling itself under the canopy of a banyan tree that has flourished for decades. Guests have the option to dine on the ground floor, where tribal, thatched-roof huts surround the teppanyaki showcase, or ascend a spiral staircase to dine on a suspended platform six meters in the air.

Enhanced Design and Landscape:

After a decade of operation, Niyama introduces an enhanced setting for Nest, with more dramatic landscaping by the resort’s chief engineer, Michael Selvin. The denser foliage ensures each table is more fully enveloped in nature and exclusivity. At night, the trees come alive with hundreds of lights, creating an exotic ambiance reminiscent of the neon glow of Asian streets.

New Culinary Delights:

Executive Chef Thierry Vergnault unveils a new menu, featuring avant-garde flavors that include highlights like wagyu and sea urchin tataki (Japan), sizzling bo lok lak (Vietnam), and chilli reef lobster from local waters (Singapore). Chef Thierry’s creations combine the freshest, high-quality ingredients with unexpected culinary techniques, while Asian herbs and spices from the island’s garden add a distinctive touch.

Immersive Experience:

Nest is not only a culinary journey but an immersive adventure, with a focus on novel and intriguing gastronomic experiences. The island’s own garden provides hard-to-find Asian herbs and spices, influencing both the menu and the experimental cocktail list curated by consultant Mathew Atkinson of Bruff Drinks.

Invitation to Adventure:

Hafidh Al Busaidy, General Manager of Niyama Private Islands Maldives, extends an invitation to adventure seekers worldwide, saying, “We are thrilled to unveil the new Nest. The reimagined concept, coupled with Chef Thierry Vergnault’s culinary brilliance, promises to take our guest experience to another level, and we invite the adventurous from around the world to come experience the magic of Nest for themselves.”
