New Jetty for Safari in Malé Atoll

During Maldives Boating Awards 2019, Tourism Minister Ali Waheed announced that, as promised by the government, a harbor 8 kilometers from Malé has been dedicated for safaris in 2020. Maldives boasts over hundred Liveaboards or Safari boats.

The unavailability of a suitable harbor has been a constant complain by people in this field. With this development, the problem faced by liveaboards will be solved. Liveaboard Association of Maldives says that this will develop the safari industry of Maldives. The Minister further states that “laws and regulations related to tourism in 2020 will be announced. Regulations regarding boating association will also be revised.”
