Conrad Maldives Rangali Island has announced the appointment of Nick Flynn as General Manager. With more than two decades of global experience in culinary arts, operations and executive leadership, Nick brings a fresh perspective to the award-winning luxury resort.
Set across two private islands and known for iconic offerings like Ithaa, the world’s first undersea restaurant, and The Muraka, the first undersea residence, Conrad Maldives has long been recognised for redefining luxury in the Maldives. Nick’s arrival comes at an important time in the resort’s journey.
Starting his career as a chef, Nick’s leadership is rooted in discipline and teamwork. “As a chef, you always have a clear idea of what each dish or concept should look like. Achieving the desired outcome only comes from clear communication and support for the team,” he says.
Prior to this role, Nick held senior positions at the Shangri-La group, where he focused on empowering colleagues. “It’s very important that team members are empowered to do their job. Each colleague is a specialist in their field. My job as a leader is to provide the right environment, coaching and guidance,” he shares.
Nick is also deeply committed to environmental responsibility. “The Maldives is a very sensitive ecosystem, and we must do everything in our power to protect it and minimise our footprint. Education is key to creating that awareness,” he explains.
“Luxury for me is about choice. Each guest arrives with a sense of purpose, and it’s our responsibility to understand that purpose and curate meaningful experiences around it,” Nick adds.
“I never have a mission accomplished feeling. I’m continuously evolving the product and the experiences. Complacency is one of the biggest reasons for failure in our industry,” he says.
Nick’s appointment signals a renewed commitment to innovation, sustainability and personalised service at Conrad Maldives Rangali Island.
