Last Saturday, the highly-acclaimed resort, Paradise Island part of the Villa Hotels & Resorts conducted a familiarization trip for Dharumavantha School Students. The resort welcomed students studying hospitality and tourism management at the school accompanied by teachers.
Upon arrival, the visiting delegation was greeted warmly by the General Manager of Paradise Island Resort, Ibrahim Nahid. He then proceeded to introduce the students and teachers to the senior management at the resort. Afterward, the resort management led a series of information sessions for the students to make them more aware of the different areas of the resort and the responsibilities associated with each branch. Additionally, valuable insight into the daily operations and workflow of the opulent resort was given during the sessions.
The students were briefed about the Villa Hotels & Resorts ethos and their commitment to giving back to the local community through developing highly-skilled talents in the tourism industry. The General Manager also shared with students the importance of informative and educational activities in generating crucial exposure and remarked that participation in such activities will give a ‘hands-on experience’ boost when seeking employment. He concluded by expressing his gratitude to the teachers of the school for organizing the trip and allowing the Villa team to provide in-depth insight and knowledge of the industry.
Following the sessions, the students were given a guided tour of the resort by a member of the management. The students were provided the opportunity to inspect several sections of the resort including the lobby, guestrooms, spa, house areas, offices, kitchens as well as housekeeping and F&B outlets. The students were elated to gain useful insight from the trip. Before concluding the visit, the Villa team also hosted a Q&A session to clarify any of the inquiries that the students might have.
During the trip, the visiting group was treated to refreshments and lunch at Bageecha Restaurant, where the trademark hospitality of the group was presented. The trip concluded with the teachers expressing their appreciation for the Villa team and thanking them for opening the student’s eyes to the hardwork and dedication invested into the Villa Hotels & Resorts collection, to make them one of the most successful hoteliers in the Maldivian tourism industry.
