On a serene evening at The Beach House, Patina Maldives celebrated a proud moment: the graduation of 12 team members who completed the Vocational Education and Training (VET) by EHL programme. This globally recognised initiative equips resort-based professionals with world-class hospitality education, combining academic learning with hands-on experience.
The ceremony brought together resort leaders, families, government officials, mentors, and representatives from Capella Hotel Group to honour the achievements of these individuals. Set against the peaceful oceanfront, the event reflected the resort's commitment to growth and empowerment.
General Manager Anthony Gill opened the evening with a warm welcome, expressing pride in the graduates and the resort’s ongoing investment in nurturing Maldivian talent.
Launched in 2022, the VET by EHL programme at Patina Maldives is delivered in partnership with EHL Hospitality Business School—ranked the world’s best hotel management school by QS World University Rankings. The 18-month course covers three levels—Foundation, Intermediate, and Advanced—through a blend of online modules, practical training, and in-person sessions led by EHL-certified facilitators. The programme also undergoes annual audits by EHL to maintain global standards.
This year’s graduates include six students from the Food and Beverage diploma track and six from the Rooms Division. Each balanced full-time work with study, showing remarkable dedication.

The highlight of the evening was the formal graduation ceremony. Two graduates, Ali Shiyaz (Food & Beverage) and Nima Ibrahim (Rooms Division), shared heartfelt speeches reflecting on their journeys, growth, and the support they received along the way.
