Plan Ahead- Island Resorts to Open In Maldives

Coming to the Maldives later this year, where hundreds of luxury resorts sets a high standard in the world for luxury travel, and where natural beauty is incomparable, is the Chedi Kudavillingili and Kagi Maldives Spa Island. These two beauties add to the long list of what the island paradise has to offer to the world- an unmatched experience.

The Chedi Kudavillingili

The Chedi hospitality brand is to open its first island resort in the Maldives. Planned for debut later for this, The Chedi Kudavillingili will encompass 99 villas, 36 of which are to be perched over water, along with a spa featuring overwater treatment rooms, an all-day restaurant with hawker stalls, a beach club and bar and inviting 150-meter-long pool running through the center of it all.

Accessed via 25-minute speedboat ride from the Malé International Airport, the luxurious property is situated in coral island ‘Kudavillingili’, which measures just 1 kilometers! But this doesn’t obstruct the variety of opportunities here- your recreational options on the island ranges from courts for several different sports to surfing and a plethora of on-the-water and underwater pursuits.

Kagi Maldives Spa Island

A first of its kind in the island nation, Kagi Maldives will offer a 360-degree wellness experience in the North Male Atoll. Now slated to open September 2020, the new wellness enclave will focus on providing a holistic mind, body and soul retreat in a space designed by architect Yuji Yamazaki, with 1,500-square-meter spa featuring an open-air, teardrop-shaped floating yoga pavilion at the center of it all. This wellness center will be joined by 50 beach- lagoon- and ocean-villas, two restaurants, three bars, a dive center and house reef.

The star of the resort, Baani Spa, is inspired by the “Epicurean lifestyle philosophy” and Maldivian island spirit. The objective is to deliver an authentic, result, outcome and experience focused service menu that is free of pretentiousness and puts customers’ needs at the absolute forefront.
