Planning an Eco-friendly Vacay? The Barefoot Eco Hotel Returns on August

After a 45-minute domestic flight journey from Malé International Airport and a 15-minute car ride from Hanimaadhoo Airport, you will arrive to The Barefoot Eco Hotel, where you’ll have a comfortable, memorable experience in the Maldives while contributing concretely to the island’s conservation.

The guesthouse features 20 beach front rooms having direct access to the private white sandy beach. The Ocean View rooms are located upper floor offering a spectacular sea view. Perfect for a 4 star family vacation, some of the beach front and ocean view rooms are connecting on the floor for a total of 100 sqm including the verandas. Ideal for groups, the Seaside Rooms are comfortable accommodations, nicely furnished, with a modern and elegant double sink bathroom.

While the sea view restaurant serves delicious buffet meals, the panoramic bar overlooking the sea, presents fresh juices, mocktails, soft drinks and it is an ideal gathering point to spend pleasant time and relaxing evenings. Theres a charming floating bar located on the lagoon, offering a variety of cocktails, beers and wine.

The qualified diving center offers you the expertise of professional instructors to help you enjoy and explore the Maldivian underwater world with the most enchanting and suggestive marine scenarios. Further, excursions are organized to help guests discover the true Maldives by land and sea.

How is this property supporting the island? Through use of ecologically grown wood, respecting the sustainability of the forest of origin. Solar photovoltaic panels are used to generate electricity, limiting the use of diesel generators (widespread and impacting in the Maldives). A system is used that recovers the heat generated by air conditioners to heat the water of the rooms.

Barefoot also introduced a Conservation Center that has developed a series of ‘responsible activities’ for tourists (such as snorkeling, dolphin watch, etc.), so that a double goal can be pursued: “fun” for the tourists and environmental monitoring. The marine biologists “takes advantage” of the excursions to carry out several projects of environmental monitoring, in order to collect data on the ecosystem and monitor the impact of the Eco Hotel activities on the environment.
