On 8th April, First Responders First announced a partnership with Marriott International to support frontline healthcare workers with essential protective equipment, accommodations, child care, food, mental health support and other essential resources.
Beginning this week, Marriott and First Responders First will provide healthcare workers in New York City with accommodations starting with The Renaissance New York Times Square and The Algonquin Hotel Times Square, Autograph Collection which are both in close proximity to hospitals. Accommodations will be provided at no cost to the healthcare workers.
As people stay at home for their safety, frontline healthcare workers step out to serve their nation, risking their own lives and staying away from their families. “Healthcare workers are navigating the challenges of this moment with courage and compassion. They’re taking care of us, so we need to help take care of them. That’s why we are not only raising funds for critical equipment but also for essential resources for first responders and their families, including child care and food,” said Arianna Huffington, Founder and CEO of Thrive Global.
Furthermore, earlier Airbnb announced free housing for 100,000 people working as frontline healthcare, relief for first response professionals focused on stemming the COVID-19 crisis.
