Baa Atoll, Maldives: In celebration of International Youth Day 2024, Reethi Beach Resort organized a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) event that invited 12 eager students from grades 9 and 10 of Kihaadhoo School for an enlightening educational tour of the resort. This initiative aimed to give back to the community, foster interest in the tourism industry, and provide students with a deep understanding of how Maldivian resorts operate.
Accompanied by three teachers and the school principal, the students were warmly greeted by the General Manager of Reethi Beach Resort and enthusiastic staff at the arrival jetty. The tour offered these young minds a comprehensive and immersive experience, showcasing both front-of-house and back-of-house operations.
One of the highlights of the visit was a tour of Reethi Garden, where the students were awestruck by the intricate work done behind the scenes. The chorus of "wows" as they explored the garden was a testament to their amazement and newfound appreciation for the resort's operations.
The students also visited Coconut Spa and Ocean Fanatics, gaining insights into their unique contributions to the resort's success. These interactions enriched their understanding of the diverse facets of hospitality and tourism.
The day concluded with a certification ceremony, recognizing the students' participation and engagement. Throughout the day, they enjoyed hearty meals and snacks, making the experience both educational and enjoyable.
"We aimed to give these students a firsthand look at the hospitality industry. By nurturing their curiosity, we contribute to the future of our community and the tourism sector," said Valentin Osolos, General Manager of Reethi Beach Resort.
The event saw active participation from Mohamed Zubair, Principal of Kihaadhoo School, and teachers Hassan Haleem and Nithin Valiyapurakkal. Their involvement enriched the students' experience, providing additional guidance and ensuring a comprehensive and impactful tour. "This experience has opened our students' eyes to the opportunities in the tourism industry. We are thankful to Reethi Beach Resort for this educational initiative," commented Mohamed Zubair, Principal of Kihaadhoo School.
