Yesterday, Visit Maldives welcomed top Spanish lifestyle and travel influencers to the Maldives as part of an ongoing campaign with Passporter App. Widely used across Spain as a the most favored travel app, Passporter App connects destinations with travelers on their platform.

Aida Domenech Pascual, Alba Paul Ferrer, Paula Gonzalez Nuñez and Jonathan Bettran Wiergo arrived in the Maldives yesterday and will be staying until April 20. During their stay, these influencers will showcase the Maldives on the app to over 500,000 unique users on the app alone, and reach an estimated 3 million in audience numbers across its social platforms. In addition, the influencers will utilize their own social media handles for sharing content, expanding reach to another 9 million users jointly.

Cocoon Maldives

The team of influencers will be hosted at Cocoon Maldives, Fushifaru Maldives and Kuramathi Maldives. Their itineraries are filled with engaging recreational activities, wellness journeys, signature culinary delights and many unique-to-Maldives experiences.

Spain is a key source market to the Maldives which saw a dreaded blow to arrival numbers since the global pandemic. However, numbers are slowly recovering and with such high impact promotions with award-winning stakeholders of the Spanish travel industry, Visit Maldives aims to keep the destination presence in the market as the ideal safe haven for post pandemic travel.

Kuramathi Maldives

Among other activities planned for the market, Visit Maldives will be participating in the upcoming travel trade fair FITUR 2021 in Spain. Specifically targeted promotional activities are also being carried out via the global promotional campaigns with Expedia and TripAdvisor.
