The idyllic property, Fairmont Maldives Sirru Fen Fushi has announced the appointment of Sedat Bugday as the new Executive Chef at the resort. Under his new role, Sedat will helm the culinary offerings at Fairmont’s four exquisite dining venues, elevating guest experiences with various gastronomical indulges. The four restaurants featured on the island include the signature Japanese restaurant, Kata, the stunning by-the-sea seafood restaurant, Azure, the all-day dining hub, Raha Market and lastly the Thai-Indonesian inspired Onu Onu beach bar.
Sedat’s long and illustrious career in the luxury hospitality industry spans over 29 years with a wealth of international experience and expertise holding merit to his name. Throughout his career, Sedat has worked and overseen restaurants in several globally esteemed resort brands and in doing so accumulated deep insights and knowledge about the luxury F&B department and team management.
Prior to joining Fairmont Maldives, Sirru Fen Fushi, his most recent posting had been at Rixos Marina in Abu Dhabi where he spearheaded the F&B operations on the property. Likewise, Sedat has also been an influential force across Accor’s leading brands for more than ten years, serving commendable positions at properties such as Swissotel Grand Efes Izmir, Fairmont Quasar Istanbul and Swissotel Ankara.
