The Moscow International Travel Trade Show is a platform where industry stakeholders from the Russia and CIS region meet and greet existing and new clients from all over the world and exchange information regarding the destinations and build business relationships. This year, the event is currently ongoing from March 16 to 18, 2021 and Visit Maldives along with 23 industry participants from 12 companies are taking part in the event. This is the first physical participation in a travel trade fair by Visit Maldives since the pandemic hit.
A dedicated space of 148.6 sqm is allocated in stand A2041 in Pavilion 1.4 for the Maldivian participants in the fair with banner placements in the prime location of the entrance showcasing the brand presence in the fair. A continuous loop of presentations on a touchless sensor showcasing the beauty of the destination and unique experiences will be shown in order to establish Maldives as an ideal and safe post-covid destination for Russian travelers.
MITT provides the opportunity to exchange information about the safety measures, travel requirements and the latest information on the status of Maldives’ tourism with travel trade professionals in Russia who are looking to build a network to the destination. The Russian market has been one of the top performing markets since the border reopening with 4 flights operating between Russia and Maldives. According to statistics, a total of 40.698 Russians has arrived in the Maldives till date this year.
During the concluding event at MITT, Visit Maldives will be conducting a raffle draw to select one lucky winner who will get a complimentary holiday in Reethi Beach Resort. The resort will sponsor 2 pax for 5 nights and provide impeccable service and a true Maldivian experience on the island.
Following the event, Visit Maldives has arranged road shows in 4 cities across Russia from March 21 to 26. 34 participants from 20 companies will be taking part in the roadshows that will be held in Moscow, Kazan, Saint Petersburg & Ekaterinburg, aimed at giving a taste of Maldives to audiences in these cities.
More initiatives are planned down the pipeline focusing on the Russian market including high impact campaigns with global industry professionals such as Expedia, and more media familiarization trips in the upcoming months.
