The private island of Furanafushi, home to the esteemed five-star Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort & Spa has welcomed a seasoned healer to its midst. Abhilash SC – ‘Dr. Abhi’ will now take charge of the island’s wellness experiences, putting together soothing getaways that encompass everything from yoga classes and guided meditations to mindfulness exercises. Hailing from India, Dr. Abhi will pose as the new wellness expert on the property, providing a holistic approach to wellbeing.
Under his guidance and knowledge, the resort will broaden its diverse offerings to include naturopathy, massage, physiotherapy and acupuncture, enabling guests to take full advantage of the upscaled wellness arrangements. With this upgrade, guests can now immerse in the inclusions of the Shine Spa, the family program and the numerous culinary outlets featured on the island as well as seek relaxation and harmony through refreshing new wellness experiences designed to improve their wellbeing.
As an experienced yoga teacher and dedicated Naturopath, Dr. Abhi will double up as the Recreation Team Leader of Sheraton Maldives. His responsibilities will include developing special activities for guests in line with the Sheraton Hotels & Resorts’ community approach. With a passion for health, wellness and a nature-based lifestyle, Dr. Abhi holds a degree in Naturopathy and Yoga Science from the Medical University of Chennai.
During his stellar career, he has worked alongside several hospitals, yoga schools, and wellness retreats and published two medical research papers in the area of skin and joint disease. Moreover, he has launched his very own yoga e-magazine titled ‘Remedial Health’ and has done freelancing stints in health counselling and yoga therapy. In the future, Dr. Abhi hopes to establish a sustainable wellness centre that utilizes only natural treatments and aspires to publish a monthly health magazine.
