Three journalists from the South African Markets are in the Maldives, taking part in a Familiarization Trip by Visit Maldives. Hosted from June 14 to 20, the journalists will be sharing content on their stay and experiences in the safe haven of Maldives.
Each belonging from as esteemed editorial group, the journalists represent some of the most widely read publications in the South African market including Sowetan Live and Nomad Africa Magazine. Combined, these publications have a reach exceeding 300 million readers. Maldives will be promoted on both the print and online mediums, supported by coverage on the respectable social media platforms too.
Finolhu Maldives, Dusit Thani and Hurawalhi Island Resort are hosting the journalists and offered them a variety of authentic Maldivian goodness to indulge in. These included visit to the iconic Beach Bubble in Finolhu Maldives, snorkeling with Manta Rays at Dusit Thani and adrenaline-pumping water sports at Hurawalhi Island Resort.
The FAM trip was one of Visit Maldives’ many destination marketing campaigns targeting advertising in the South African market. Visit Maldives is constantly working to maintain destination presence and promote Maldives as the most preferred and safe destination for post pandemic travel. With mass vaccination campaigns and easing of travel restrictions, it is hopeful that the arrival figure from the South African market will increase within the next few months.
