Special Annual Awards by the Tourism Ministry

The Tourism Ministry of the Maldives has introduced special annual awards for the tourism sector.

This includes 4 awards given to employees for working in the tourism sector, 3 awards given to people that help develop local artists, an award given for those who facilitate employment for locals, an award for those that facilitate employment for women, and an award to encourage the production of local goods.

This is an award presented to companies after careful evaluation by the ministry for applications submitted by the tourism sector businesses. These awards are introduced to commemorate the 50th Golden Jubilee of Maldivian Tourism.

Applications for these awards will be open this June for tourist resorts, hotels, guesthouse businesses, and tourist's vessels.
