The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) has welcomed a delegation of leading Thai media journalists and bloggers to experience the famed hospitality and luxury offerings awaiting visitors at the Sunny Side of Life. The representatives touched down in the Maldives on 20th February 2023 and will immerse themselves in the exceptional experiences, products, and renowned Maldivian service standards over the next 6 days.
The media team consists of 2 journalists, 3 bloggers and 1 PR representative who will be staying at the resplendent properties of Pullman Maldives Maamutaa, Mercure Maldives Kooddoo and Reethi Beach Resort during their time. At each step of the way, the team will share their experiences with audiences through online articles, publications and social media platforms, aiding to create better brand awareness in the Thai market. Moreover, it will help to promote the Maldives to Thai travellers as well with the generated content expected to exceed 6,179,000 impressions.
This familiarization trip forms part of MMPRC’s marketing strategy for the Southeast Asian markets, which aims to exhibit the diverse and characteristic aspects of the destination to travellers from the region. The Thai market currently ranks at #38 for inbound visitors to the Maldives however, MMPRC has grand plans to boost this market and other South-Asian markets this year through a series of campaigns and promotions targeted at the region. Some of the events planned include participating in MATTA 2023 and ADEX Ocean Mission 2023 and hosting a Maldives Roadshow in Southeast Asia.
