The Amazing Water Adventures of Maldives Promoted at MIDE 2022

MIDE, the Malaysia International Dive Expo, has expanded over the years into a crucial commercial platform for the dive industry, attracting an average of 12,000 visitors per year, 90 percent of whom are dive enterprises and professionals. It is a one-stop shop for buyers and dealers of dive and underwater equipment, courses, travel, and underwater conservation, as well as boating and water sports.

The exhibition is internationally recognized and warmly received by industry participants worldwide where underwater experiences are recognized as one of the fastest expanding tourism segments in South East Asia. Representing Maldives is Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC / Visit Maldives) and other industry partners at the event that is held from 27th – 29th May 2022 at Hall 3, Level 3, World Trade Center, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

MMPRC is accompanied by 6 representatives from 4 associated co-exhibitors at the Maldivian display where the team show-cases the destination to maintain destination presence, build brand awareness, and provide essential information with the travel trade and potential passengers from Malaysia, Southeast Asia, and beyond. Specifically targeting the dive segment, which is a niche market for the destination, with this event.

During the event, MMPRC and industry partners promotes the Maldives' diving and underwater experiences to potential dive and underwater sports enthusiasts, explaining why the destination is the best choice for their next vacation. Moreover, top travel trade members one-on-one will be met, tourism products displayed, including resorts, hotels, guesthouses, and live-aboards, and advertise the Maldives' unique experiences and services by MMPRC.

With this event, building significant partnerships with the worldwide travel and tourism industries in much anticipated by MMPRC, as this provides an excellent opportunity to update the visitors on the most recent destination information, travel restrictions, and safety measures in place in our facilities. During the event, MIDE fair will also host a series of seminars by diving and water-sports professionals including a speech by the Maldivian Diver, Shafraz Naeem.

Furthermore, during the fair, a special exam will be held, and one lucky participant will be chosen from among those who successfully complete the quiz questionnaire. The winner of this lucky lottery will get a special gift on the final day of the fair.
