Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) and 15 other industry partners have showcased the Maldives at World Travel Market Latin America (WTM LATAM). The travel trade event was held in José Bernardo Pinto, Vila Guilherme São Paulo, Brazil from the 3rd to the 5th of April 2023.
WTM LATAM is a prominent fair hosted in the region and among the key B2B travel and tourism events for Latin America. The fair provides access to many relevant and qualified travel & tourism industry buyers, influencers and professionals, enabling excellent business opportunities and returns on investments. This year’s fair brought together approximately 20,000 travel professionals and 265 major exhibiting companies from around the world.
The Maldivian destination was exhibited at a 60 sqm stand that drew attention to the breathtaking scenery of the island nation. It also serves as an ideal platform for industry partners to promote their products, experiences and segments to visitors as well as connect with the Latin American market. Moreover, industry partners were also able to develop mutually beneficial business relations, which aligns with MMPRC’s goal of strengthening its brand presence in the region.
MMPRC’s participation in WTM LATAM aimed to achieve three main objectives. First of all, it was to increase destination presence and brand awareness in Latin America. Secondly, it helped the tourism board connect with the travel trade in the region and lastly, it provided a platform for MMPRC to share the latest updates on the destination with visitors. The Maldives has welcomed over 19,000 arrivals from the region by March 2023.
