Amir Mansoor, the former accountant and professional tennis player, now the owner of a luxury resort, has developed keen insight into how the Maldivian industry, and hospitality a whole, has evolved in the last couple of decades.
In an interview with Travel Daily, Mansoor expresses that the resort’s biggest challenges are hiring and retaining the staff and security. ‘To meet these, and numerous other problems, we make sure that our resort is up to date on all the latest trends and marketing strategies to continue to build and maintain our online profile.’
Gaining the trust of customers but also the confidence of investors, Huravalhi Maldives has officially and successfully completed nine full months of operations. ‘In that time, we have completed already 85% of the rebranding work, to match The Standard concept.’
The goal for The Standard, Huruvalhi Maldives for the next six months is maximizing revenue and Mansoor adds that it’s ‘the most important objective for hoteliers.’
‘It is not easy to survive in the fiercely competitive Maldives tourism market.’ He believes learning how to localize and provide authentic experiences is crucial for the development of international resort brands in the Maldives.
