The Stunning New Manta at Mövenpick Resort

A new reef manta has been spotted at Mövenpick Resort Kuredhivaru Maldives, as reported by the resort’s marine biologist Christian Stolpe.

The resort has worked with many non-profit organizations including Manta Trust to record and identify manta rays, Olive Ridley Project to identify turtles, Turtlewatch and Shark watch. They also assist in collecting data to get a better idea about the population and movements of these creatures.

“The spot pattern is unique for each Manta and hence for identifying mantas it is vital to have a clear shot of the belly,” explains Christian. The manta was sighted on 24th November 2019 at Noonu Atoll.

Mövenpick resort Kuredhivaru is located in one of the most undisturbed parts in the Maldives. Its wonderful reef is full of life, and with the new manta ray spotted, it’s even more appealing.
