As they do every month, the Ministry of Tourism, with the assistance of Maldives Immigration, has published the official tourist arrival statistics for the month of February 2022.
The total number of tourists for February reached 149,011. with the daily average being 5,321. This is a 13% increase from January when there were only 131,753 tourists.
The promotions of the country for this year as it is the Golden Jubilee Year of Tourism for the Maldives, are all contributing to the increase in the number of tourist arrival rates, as the first two months alone yielded over 280,000 recorded tourists who entered the country.
This is a huge increase from the first two months of 2021, with 48.6%.
The most number of tourists hail from the Russian Federation, which contributes to 15.5% of total arrival rates, followed by the United Kingdom which contributed 11%, and then India contributing 9.1%. Other notable markets include Germany, Italy, France, the USA, Ukraine, Switzerland, and Austria.
