From the 1st of November to the 15th of November 2022, guests can indulge their palates in one of the World’s most refined cuisines curated by guest Chef Soon-ae Yang.
At Westin Maldives Miriandhoo, Chef Soon-ae Yang will be recreating authentic Korean delicacies, available for guests for dinner at Hawker, the alfresco-style dining venue with unobstructed views of the Indian Ocean. Moreover, she will also be hosting a designated breakfast corner at Island Kitchen and an exclusive Korean cooking class every Sunday and Wednesday for guests.
The Korean Food Festival marks the 5-star resort’s efforts to provide guests with the unique experience to savour exotic and flavourful cuisines from around the world during their stay and to accommodate the increasing number of Korean guests visiting the resort.
With the growing popularity of Korean cuisine among epicureans, the demand for Korean food has increased. Marked by its spicy and varied characteristics, Korean cuisine emphasizes eating healthily. Kimchi is named the national dish and is quintessential to any Korean gastronomical experience.
Some of the delectable featured in the Korean Food Festival include the world-famous Bibimbap (Korean bowl of rice assortment of vegetables), GamJa Jeon (traditional Korean potato pancake), Kimchi Fried Rice, Dak Gangjeon (crispy, sweet and sour fried chicken) and Haemul Ramen (Korean spicy noodles with shrimps, squid, crab and mussels).
For breakfast, Chef Yang brings famous Korean breakfast dishes such as MiyeokGuk (seaweed soup), Gamja Jorim (potato salad) and Jap Chae (glass noodles with vegetables and soy sauce) among other sumptuous comestibles.
With almost 20 years of experience in the field, Chef Yang has worked with well-established hotels and restaurants during her career, building on her expert knowledge and excellence. At Westin Maldives Miriandhoo, she will be sharing her knowledge with the resort’s culinary team, introducing new gastronomy trends and techniques, including adding more nutritious dishes to the menu on a weekly basis, perfectly aligning with the Westin Eat Well philosophy to provideguests with balanced and nutritious cuisines.
