Are you willing to helm the Barefoot Bookshop at Soneva Jani? This stunning resort is giving locals a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to sign up for the position of ‘Barefoot Bookseller’ - one drooled over internationally! It has been many a times titled as one of the world’s most desirable jobs on global media platforms, and is accurately so.

The ideal candidate for the job is one with a wealth of knowledge of classic and contemporary international literature, as well as the Maldives’ rich story-telling heritage. While being based at the resort, the most interesting task you can perform will be providing unforgettable reading experiences to our guests. This could be anything from hosting writing workshops to giving personal reading consultations.

Additionally, it will test your social media and content creation capabilities for the Barefoot Bookseller Blog and Instagram page whilst as a technical formality, the role also includes managing the Barefoot Bookshop and curating its diverse and rich library.

As a Soneva Jani family member, the candidate will naturally be a team player with the ability to engage guests of all ages, with excellent spoken and written English and a strong understanding of the latest literary trends. If you have worked in bookselling or publishing, and have a portfolio of previous writing engaging blog posts or newsletters experience, the odds are in your favor.
