After a challenging last year, Amilla heard its vacation-hungry islanders asking for fun and escapism when they travel again. Being playful as always, the outside-the-box thinking resort team cma eup with a unique twist on J M Barrie’s classic tale, Peter Pan. This can only mean one thing – youngsters and all of you young-at-heart are in for a treat from March 29th to April 5th on the island of surprises.
This Easter, the playful island of Amilla Maldives invites all sun-seekers to its stunning 5-star resort, or rather, Neverland! The vast expanse of jungle, treehouses, a glittering lagoon and a mysterious ‘Blue Hole’ are all magically transforming into Neverland. With so much whimsical places to see in one destination, there couldn’t be a more appropriate Neverland location than the timeless island paradise of Amilla Maldives.
This ‘festival of hope’ Easter celebration will be brimming with surprises, excitement - and a sprinkling of fairy dust too. It cleverly weaves in the timely themes of regeneration, rebirth, hope, sustainability and ‘coming together’, which will be showcased through a variety of performances, activities and special events for all ages.
You can brace yourself for shows and storytelling by Peter and Wendy (aka Des and Zoie; the in-house ‘Area 51 Performers’) involving staff and guests, a treasure hunt, Easter egg hunt and crafting workshops presided over by a (reformed) Captain Hook to help keep the little ones entertained.
All the kids can get even more excited for Easter Sunday when they can all dress up for a sustainability-themed fashion show using recycled and sustainable materials. The theme of this fashion show will be focusing on ‘fashion for a brighter future’. During the interludes, the bunch can fly kites made from recycles paper and plastic down the runway, and look forward to magic shows, pirate circus skills, stilt-walking and acrobatics. Sounds like even more excitement!
All the big kids can have their fun in the evening by the main pool, where cocktails will be served at the Easter Gala Dinner, alongside entertainment by aerial silk performers weave shapes through the coconut trees.
The next day, free up an entire afternoon and dedicate it to water-based races, games and poolside dancing with prizes at ‘Captain Hook’s Grand Splashional’. The underwater treasure hunt is open for kids of all ages. It will be followed by a Flamingo Parade of (waterproof) Easter bonnets made by the kids. Peter Pan will join in the celebrations leading the island-wide Easter egg hunt. The under-fives will be transported around the pool on inflatable unicorns and seahorses.
More exciting details will be revealed closer to the event, and the resort does promise no crocodiles will be invited. Get in touch with this Forbes recommended resort at stay@amilla.com and book your vacay.
