This October, revamped experiences are coming to the shores of Maamigili Island in Raa Atoll. Under new ownership, the previuos Loama Resort Maldives has transformed into a 100-villa with brand new design, an immersive concept and a hyped-up rebrand – Cora Cora Maldives.

A 45-minute seaplane ride away from the gateway of Velana International Airport, the island overlooks the Indian Ocean with undisturbed natural beauty in the surrounding. Alternatively, guests can opt for a domestic flight followed by a 20-minute speedboat ride to the island as well.

For the first time in the Maldives, Cora Cora Island will showcase the premier licensed Art Gallery and Museum in the destination. Guests can explore over 400 incredible local artefacts in the museum’s collection, taking them through the rich Maldivian history and culture depicted by each piece.

Cora Cora Maldives recognizes the element of an upscale culinary journey as an important element of a good vacation hence, features four new restaurants in its new design. These include an Italian Beach Club, Japanese restaurant with a Tepanyaki experience, an Asian Eatery and our favorite – a Bazaar serving international cuisine.

The resort is ambitious in offering an attractive Premium All Inclusive Meal Plan, a creation of the very talented Chef Unberto Piccolini. This all-encompassing plan ensures to cater to a wealth of dietary requirements, serving an array of plant based vegan dishes and a variety of options for the health-conscious consumer. Guests can be assured top quality of fresh ingredients used in plating every dish to perfection.

Taking a look at recreational activities on the island, the resort has a PADI certified diving school and watersports center. When guests aren’t snorkelling or diving in the island’s coral-rich waters, they can dine at four restaurants, sip cocktails at two bars, be pampered at the spa pavilion, and work on their fitness at the gym and water sports centre. There are also two bars, a gym, yoga pavilion, an outdoor cinema and a kid’s club.

Contemporarily designed villas of the resort are split across land and over-water providing luxury, comfort and relaxation all in the freedom of space for couples and families alike. Positioned as an affordable luxury resort with a unique cultural offering, the resort will appeal to couples and families from a wide range of destinations, including the UK, Europe, Middle East and Asia.
