Transforming Shipping & Logistics in Maldives- MSS

On 5th April, maiden voyage of the liner services of Maldives State Shipping (MSS) was inaugurated at Maldives Ports Limited. ''Maldives will no longer depend on others for shipping'', stated the Managing Director of Maldives State Shipping Abdulla Saeed.

Managing Director of STO said ‘this is a remarkable day- not just for STO but also the whole country.’ He had acknowledged the hard work of STO employees involved in the development of the shipping line and highlighted the services of Managing Director of MSS. With the launch of MSS, it creates new opportunities for businesses and citizens.

MSS Managing Director Abdullah Saeed: MSS will pave the way for the youths of the country to work in a new industry and employment for Maldivian officers and crewmen. A new generation of officers, crewmen is our hope.

The MV Iberian Express arrived in the Maldives today with staple food items and medical supplies and was greeted by a water salute. It has the capacity to transport 700 containers of 20 feet.
