Travel restrictions have been lifted from 4 resorts: Malahini Kuda Bandos, Brennia Kottefaru Resort, Rahaa Resort and Four seasons Private Island Maldives at Voavah; and 15 safaris: Stella 2, Hamathi, Conte Max, Over Reef, Sea Coral Voyages Maldives Private Limited, Magic Land Maldives, Theia Safari, Assidha Safari / Muraka Ventures, Leo, Noah Safari, Stella 1, Ensis Felicity, Soleil 1, Princess Noor and Maldives Mosaique.
The government previously announced that safari workers and resort staff can leave the vessel after 14 days quarantine from the departure of its last guests and the approval of Health Protection Agency (HPA). The employees of these resorts and vessels have been given approval to evacuate the properties.
In order to contain the COVID-19 outbreak, authorities have ceased travel of any persons to and from resorts and safaris to any residential island within the Maldives. Maldives has also banned the entry of all foreign passenger vessels to the country. The government has taken a number of precautionary measures against the rapidly escalating state of the global COVID-19 pandemic.
