Nature is truly magical and it never seizes to amaze us. Look at the serene beauty surrounding the Maldivian islands for instance! Magical and stunning, and it is not limited to the horizon. The islands of Maldives have always been welcoming nesting grounds for turtles and on Tuesday, a remarkable moment was witnessed at the beach of Kagi Maldives.
The resort welcomed the first hatchlings of the season by releasing 123 Hawksbill turtle hatchlings on their journey out to the vast oceans. Guests joined the ‘Green Team’ at the resort as they carefully guided the babies towards the sea.
The luxurious boutique island resort focuses a mindful wellness journey that will inspire guests to retreat in the island setting while slowing down and immerse into self-discovery and self-care. Part of wellness is also being conscious about the way we travel and hence, the resort puts a lot of focus on advocating for the sustainability of our environment and its many residents.
“We are fully committed to the protection and conservation of sea turtles in the Maldives, and we are privileged that mother turtles that instinctively travel thousands of miles choose our island resort as their nesting ground to lay their eggs on our beach.” assured Kagi Maldives Spa Island’s Director of Operations, Mohammed Nazeer.
“The hatching and release of these graceful creatures is truly a unique moment, and we are happy to share it with our guests and associates. There are currently three more nests, and we hope to see the arrival of the hatchlings by the end of July.”
