The ultra-luxe island resort of Vakkaru Maldives has announced the promotion of Ali Almaas to the position of Director of Rooms at the idyllic property. Previously serving as the Front Office Manager of Vakkaru Maldives, Almaas will now expand his role to include additional responsibilities including overseeing all Housekeeping operations and joining the team at the Executive Committee.
Almaas initially joined Vakkaru Maldives in March 2019 as Duty Manager. Since then, he has continuously proved to be a notable asset to the resort, evident from his promotions within the Front of House division alone. He swiftly moved up the ladder from filling Duty Manager to eventually becoming the Front Office Manager- a role he executed with utmost dedication and professionalism during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic. During that time, Almaas played an instrumental role in building a strong front-of-house team, despite the numerous challenges faced by the pandemic.
His ability to navigate complex situations combined with his Can-Do attitude earned him well-deserved acclaim from his colleagues. Additionally, Almaas’s leadership qualities and commitment to upholding the highest standards of service are clearly reflected in the positive reviews and rankings Vakkaru Maldives has seen in the past couple of years. Stepping into his role, Almaas takes on several tasks and will be in charge of managing the Front Office, Guest Services, Butler Services, Recreation and Kids Club operations as well as supervising Housekeeping operations. Speaking about his most recent promotion Almaas commented:
