Velana International Airport (VIA) has announced its esteemed partners for the upcoming Air Service World Congress (ASWC) 2024, marking a significant milestone in the Maldives' aviation sector. The unveiling took place at the Noovilu Seaplane Terminal of Velana International Airport, with top officials and partners in attendance.

Mr. Ibrahim Shareef Mohamed, CEO and Managing Director of Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL), expressed the pivotal role of VIA in the nation's development. He emphasized President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's visionary Masterplan for the airport, which aligns with the country's thriving tourism sector. Mr. Mohamed highlighted the event's importance in fostering global connections for VIA, positioning it as a hub for international travel.

As the chief guest, Ms. Aysha Nurain Janah, Chairperson of Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation, underscored the event's potential to elevate the Maldives' profile in global air travel. She emphasized the strategic partnerships formed for ASWC 2024, which aim to boost air service to local islands and attract more visitors to the Maldives. Ms. Janah emphasized the country's growing prominence as a must-visit destination on the global stage.
