Crown and Champa Resorts (CCR) is set to enhance its luxury portfolio with the grand reopening of Veligandu Maldives Resort Island in November 2024. Located in the North Ari Atoll, just a 20-minute seaplane ride or a 60-minute speedboat trip from Malé International Airport, Veligandu is ready to welcome guests of all ages to its revamped paradise.
Originally established in 1984 as one of the pioneering resorts in the Maldives, Veligandu has undergone an extensive renovation and is now poised to offer an unforgettable experience with its 100 luxurious villas. The resort seamlessly blends natural beauty with secluded luxury, featuring lush vegetation and flora that distinguish it from newer, man-made islands.

A 10-minute boat ride from the resort takes guests to Big Blue Point, renowned for its frequent hammerhead shark sightings. The North Ari Atoll boasts 18 dive sites catering to divers of all levels. Veligandu’s Ocean Dive Centre offers custom-made courses and excursions, allowing guests to explore the vibrant underwater world, encountering sea turtles, manta rays, and eagle rays. The in-house marine biologist enhances the guest experience by sharing insights about marine life and contributing to coral reef conservation efforts.

The resort caters to diverse culinary tastes with several dining options. Madivaru Teppanyaki Grill offers Japanese-inspired teppanyaki cuisine with live cooking performances. Dhonveli restaurant serves a fusion of Asian and international cuisines in a buffet style, while Thundi provides tapas-style bites and salads for lighter meals.
