Visit Maldives is extending their marketing tactics to promote Maldives as one of the safest and the most preferred destinations for Kazakhstani travelers through a joint marketing campaign with the flag carrier of Kazakhstan, Air Astana.
This campaign will comprise of components targeting both B2B and B2C segment. Some of the marketing activities planes in this regard include of familiarizations trips, webinars targeting travel agencies and consumer advertising campaigns such as digital campaigns, ambient outdoor campaigns and radio advertisements.
Accordingly, the first activity under this campaign kicked off on 21st April 2021 – a familiarization trip for a group of travel agents that arrived in the Maldives on that day. They are set to experience the Maldives in a week-long stay where they will explore the various offerings provided at Kanuhura Maldives and Six Senses Laamu. Following this, a second group of travel agents are set to arrive in Maldives on 26th April 2021 whereby they will be hosted by Adaaran Select Meedhupparu Resort and Velassaru Maldives and Dhigali Maldives.
The commencement of direct flights to Maldives by Air Astana on 5th December 2020 was a stepping stone towards establishing a connection between the two countries and working towards improving flight connectivity between Maldives and the rest of the work. The beginning of direct flights in this accord were reflected in the arrival statistics with the Kazakhstan marketing landing a spot in the tip 5 in terms of arrivals to the Maldives for the very first time. The market continues to perform well into this year as well with a total of 15,177 Kazakhstanis arriving in the Maldives as of 21st April.
