Organized by Fiera Milano, the BIT Italian Travel Trade Fair is going digital for the first time in its life. To be held from May 9-14, the BIT Digital Edition will bring the convenience of network with stakeholders from the Italian market and all over the world to its digital platform.
Visit Maldives has announced their eager participation in the fair. The platform is of elemental significance as its brings exposure to Maldives and an opportunity to strengthen the destination’s presence in the Italian market. Alongside 6 companies and 7 participants, Visit Maldives will be conducting virtual meetings with B2B and B2C segments throughout the fair.
Prior to the pandemic, Italy was one of the top source markets to the Maldives. The number of arrivals dramatically declined in 2020 with travel restrictions being enforced by the Italian government, it is expected that once these measures are eased and travel resumes, the market will once again be a key contributor to arrival figures.
With aims of further enticing travel-hungry travelers from the Itali, Visit Maldives will be conducting various B2B and B2C marketing activities themed around providing travel related information to the Maldives with priority given to highlighting the product as a safe, close-to-heart travel destination. This includes personalized social media campaigns in Italian language, ambient campaigns to increase Maldives’ brand presence in all major cities and advertising on magazines and TV shows will be carried out specific to diving, safari segments and luxury tourism.
