Visit Maldives has begun marketing campaigns in the Balkan region in order to increase the Maldives' brand awareness. The activities for this region will last for six months, from November 2021 to March 2022.
Hungary, Slovakia, Croatia, Serbia, and Romania, the campaign's core markets, have the potential to make a significant contribution to the Maldives' overall visitor arrivals. These markets have experienced significant growth over time, have excellent connectivity and accessibility, and have the financial means to visit the Maldives.
These initiatives were timed to coincide with the reopening of borders in these markets for international travel, and they would help the Maldives establish a stronger brand presence and awareness in these areas.
Outdoor advertising and physical activities in Hungary, as well as virtual events and market familiarization tours, will be held in this region. With this campaign, Visit Maldives hopes to advertise the Maldives as a safe sanctuary for Balkan travelers along with assuring them about the Maldives' services provided amid the COVID19 pandemic.
The campaigns will assist in increasing awareness of the destination and generating media coverage, as well as creating B2C awareness through direct contact with potential tourists and keeping them up to date on destination information and travel rules.
