Visit Maldives Takes Part In a Destination Webinar Targeting the Singapore Travel Trade

Visit Maldives, High Commission of Maldives in Singapore and the Maldives Ministry of Foreign Affairs will hold the Destination Webinar on June 30, 2021 in collaboration with the Singapore Travel Agency Association (NAAS). The webinar connected with over 30 travel trade members in the Singapore market and provided the chance to identify future opportunities and collaborations with NATAS.

The purpose of the seminar is to connect the Singapore travel industry community to share the latest information about the Maldives and increase destination awareness. Furthermore, highlighting the safety provided by the natural socially-distanced geography and stringent safety measures in place.

During the Webinar, Mr. Thoyyib Mohamed, managing director of Visit Maldives addressed the importance of the Singapore market to Maldives and highlighted the current marketing strategies to promote the destination.
 

Visit Maldives presented a destination video showcasing the alluring scenery of the Maldives, the four tourism products and the unique experiences offered in Maldives. In addition, the different segments of Maldives tourism and marketing efforts were highlighted.

The Maldives implemented strict procedure on July 15, 2020 for tourists of all nationalities to ensure the safety of tourists and tourism workers. Tourists must complete an online health declaration within 24 hours of departure and must have a negative result of the PCR test performed 96 hours before departure.

The Southeast Asian market is one of the most important markets in the Maldives and has great potential for growth. Visit Maldives aims to promote the Maldives to overcome the COVID-19 crisis and strengthen relationships with SEA market destinations. Therefore, NATAS seminars play an important role in providing urgent support and strengthening Maldives' brand position in Singapore market
