The four-day event of Moscow Dive Show held recently from April 8 to 11 in Russia is the largest exhibition for water-based activities in the country. It showcases tourism, equipment and training for people interested in active lifestyle and water-based sports in Russia and Eastern Europe.
In line with the many destination marketing campaigns planned targeting the Russian market, Visit Maldives took part in the show alongside Maldives Holiday Collections and Ocean Sapphire to promote Maldives as the ideal dive destination for adventurous travelers. The exhibition provides the opportunity for industry partners to announce new products and experiences, collaborate with new partners and strengthen old ties in the Russian and CIS markets.
The Maldives stand was exhibited in a 40 square meter booth portraying the underwater beauty of the destination. All relevant information regarding travel to Maldives and dive and water-sports related were given out to visitors who visited the stand. The exhibition provides the opportunity for industry partners to announce new products and experiences, collaborate with new partners and strengthen old ties in the Russian and CIS markets including dive business owners, dive club and dive shop managers and active dive instructors. Looking back to the Moscow Dive Show in 2019, the fair recorded over 20,000 visitors in the span of 4 days.
Participation in this show is one of the many activities that have concluded in Russia this year by Visit Maldives. Just recently, Visit Maldives attended MITT 2021 and a host of roadshows in four major Russian cities followed soon after. Furthermore, there have been fam trips for highly sought after journalists from Russian media in the Maldives.
More activities are planned for the upcoming months in Russian market. Visit Maldives will be taking part in the Luxury Travel Mart scheduled to take place later this month. A major global campaign in collaboration with Expedia Group is also ongoing, with sections of it exclusively focusing on the Russian market. Visit Maldives is also collaborating with Association of Tour Operators in Russia and conducting an educational and training programme for the Russian travel trade.
