A destination visibility campaign by Singapore Airlines (SIA) and the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC/Visit Maldives) has begun with the goal of reaching the American market. Between July and August 2022, Visit Maldives and SIA will run a joint campaign.
One of the biggest airlines in the world, Singapore Airlines is based at Singapore International Changi Airport and flies to over 62 destinations in 32 countries with a range of classes. SIA currently holds a 13 percent market share between Los Angeles International Airport and San Francisco International Airport in the United States and Velana International Airport. In terms of market share to the Maldives, this carrier ranks fourth.
The goal of the joint campaign from MMPRC and SIA USA is to increase conversion among in-market travelers at crucial stages of the planning and booking process. With the convenience of SIA's goods and services, as well as improved health and safety measures thanks to #SIACares, it will promote travel to the Maldives.
Expedia, Skyscanner, and Pinterest websites and social media accounts will be used during this campaign to promote the Maldives as a travel destination by running advertisements and directing visitors to SIA to book flights to the Maldives. To influence and convert Expedia customers, the campaign will make use of audiences of travel-intenders and their granular targeting abilities.
Additionally, it will make use of Skyscanner to reach travelers and offer pertinent contextual information and recommendations during the research, planning, and purchasing phases through high-impact placements and efficient formats. In order to boost bookings, qualified traffic would also be directed to the SIA website during the joint campaign via Pinterest.
The campaign is being run as part of MMPRC's plan to market the Maldives in the USA through high-end channels, targeted advertising, and promotion of specific goods and experiences. The Maldives will be able to establish itself as a safe haven and a top-of-the-mind travel destination for tourists from the USA market as a result of the expected increase in future bookings and arrivals.
