W Maldives & JW Marriott Maldives Welcomed The Year of the Rabbit With Great Celebrations

Marriot Bonvoy’s extensive properties and resorts in the Maldives left no stone unturned in commemorating this year’s Chinese Lunar New Year. The Year of the Rabbit fell on January 22nd, 2023 and was ushered in at all the Marriot resorts with great celebrations with families feasting together on the occasion.

At W Maldives, the festivities began with a fun-filled and engaging Dumpling making class, hosted by the resort’s culinary team. The late afternoon session provided valuable insights into the artful skill of making perfect dumplings. Guests were given the preference to choose their base fillings and the culinary session was incredibly popular and acclaimed by all in-house guests. The event also aligns with the Chinese New Year tradition of spending joyful moments together with family and friends.

The Chinese New Year’s Eve Dinner might as well be regarded as the chef-d'oeuvre of the commemorations, bringing sumptuous family-style set menus for loved ones to enjoy together. At JW Marriot Maldives Resort & Spa, the Chinese New Year weekend’s highlight was the Chinese-themed dinner, roping in numerous traditional dishes from the Far East. Some of the featured creations include Cantonese Style catch of the day and prosperity spring rolls.
