Welcoming the First Tourist of 2020

As we bid farewell to 2019, Maldives welcomes its very first tourist in 2020, who was given a warm welcome by the Ministry of Tourism.

The Bahrain couple were received by Minister of Tourism Ali Waheed and Managing Director of Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) Thoyyib Mohamed.

The award winning resort in exotic Raa Atoll, Furaveri Resort gifted them a free holiday voucher. Popular among couples, the 107 private villas have been specifically designed to meet guests’ individual preferences and are set among lush vegetation.

Gulf Air, the proud national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain gifted complimentary return air tickets. The airline flies to many destinations over 30 countries in Africa, Asia, Europe and the Middle East.

The telecommunications giant Ooredoo Maldives also surprised the couple by offering a gift pack. Congratulations and here’s to wishing Maldives a successful tourism year ahead.
