You never plan on being late. But if you’re not well planned to be on time, believe it or not, you just planned to be late. Being in this situation can cost you big time and here’s how to guarantee you’ll always be on time.
First of all, for you to be determined for anything, one of the most important factor is the purpose. Why should you never be late? What are the consequences of this? After you’ve done this, make being on time a priority.
There’s always a reason why you’re never on time. Get to know yourself. Determine whether it’s your messed up sleep schedule or poor estimation of time that’s making you late for work.
Perhaps the main reason why being on time is an issue is because you aren’t managing your time effectively. So in order to be a scheduling pro, start by tracking your time. One thing to keep in mind is that it’s always better to overestimate. If you take 30 minutes in shower, prepare yourself as if you take 40 minutes.
One of the best tricks is to set your watches and clocks 5 or 10 minutes later than the actual time. This tricks your brain into thinking it’s later than it is so you rush to be on time.
Last but not least, prioritize your sleep. Oversleeping is the main reason we’re late. Make it a point to get between 6 and 8 hours of sleep each night. The best way to do this is by waking up and going to bed at the same time. Avoid blue light at least an hour before and keep your bedroom cool and dark like a cave.
