As the country reaches an emergency state in climate change, both corporates and individuals need to step up and take action. It doesn’t necessarily require you to get up and hit the streets as there are a lot of things you can do from home.
Install solar panels, or change your energy provider to one that uses clean energy. When your light bulbs blow, replace them with LED light bulbs. Buy an energy-efficient washing machine and dryer, and always wash with cold water. Challenge yourself to hang dry your clothes instead of using the dryer.
Replace single-use items like plastic water bottles, and baby wipes, do some research, and replace them with sustainable or reusable alternatives. As you finish up things like shampoo, household cleaning products, and makeup, replace them with cruelty-free and non-toxic alternatives.
The biggest way to reduce your contribution to the climate crisis is by eating a vegan diet. The UN recently released a report on global land use, concluding that eating a plant-based diet is an effective way to reduce land use and lower our carbon footprints.
